Drag Bus was launched in Brighton on 8th April this year by then Mayor of Brighton & Hove Lizzie Deane. Since then, it has become a hugely popular attraction across the city and has seen a wealth of queens perform either onboard or at the after parties, including Cherry Bomb, Snow White Trash, Dave Lynn and Carmelle Toe. It has also attracted well known faces and celebrity passengers including Stock Aitken & Waterman icon and Queen of Hi-NRG, Hazell Dean who climbed onboard the Pride special Drag Bus.
It has already become one of the most popular things to see and do in Brighton on Tripadvisor and attracted a raft of 5-star reviews. The artisan brunch boxes, talented queens and of course the Brighton Regency Routemaster bus all attract praise from passengers.
The experience proved so popular that the team have launched special festive shows to take place onboard in November and December.
Indeed, the overwhelming success of Drag Bus has led founder, Kevin Coyle, to launch the unique sightseeing experience in London next year, and bookings have already started to roll in. Kevin states “when we launched, drag was being outlawed in some countries and vilified in certain parts of the UK, and to me it’s always been the glitteriest and most fun way to spend an evening. What better way for tourists or hen/birthday parties to see a city than with unique insights, songs, games and shenanigans from a fabulous sparkly drag queen? We’ve had everything from 21st to 70th birthdays, a Spanish group of students and a hen party from the US. The feedback has been so positive that we simply had to launch it in London. I lived there for almost 20 years and it’s certainly the way I would have first liked to have seen the city!”
Drag Bus has various Christmas dates across Brighton and released their 2024 dates already and launches their London service with a special event in the city on 20th April 2024.
